Eugene M. Myer, 98, Chenoa and formerly of Bloomington, died at 5:50 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.

His funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Forrest with full military rites accorded by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts. Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 am Thursday also at the memorial home.  The family suggests memorials be given to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.

Mr. Myer was born December 25, 1919 in Chenoa, IL the son of Eugene and Eva Wade Myer.   He married Marian Louise Bennett.  She preceded him in death.  He then married Alice Marie Kilgus on December 27, 1968 in Bloomington.  She preceded him in death on April 9, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Penny Kowalski and Roger (Debbie) Myer, both of Texas; Pam McKenzie, Bloomington, IL; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by 2 brother and 1 sister.

Mr. Myer served in the US Army during WWII.  He formerly owned and operated Myerling Assisted Living, Bloomington.
