Obituary
Evelyn J. Barth, 97, of Plainfield, IN died at 9:50 pm Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Plainfield Healthcare Center, Plainfield, IN.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be directed to the McLean County Humane Society.
Mrs. Barth was born January 15, 1914 in Arrowsmith, IL the daughter of John J. and Nellie Tjardes Cundiff. She married George Barth on March 29, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. He died on June 1, 1961.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Barth, Deland, FL; one granddaughter, Julienne (Tim) Lingle, Plainfield, IN; one grandson, Wayne (Julie) Barth, Normal, IL; two great grandsons, Christopher and Jacob Lingle; two geat granddaughters, Hannah Lingle and Emily Barth.
She is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Barth attended Illinois Wesleyan University. She was an elementary school teacher for 32 years having retired in 1976. She was a member of the McLean County retired teachers association and a member of the First Christian Church, Peoria.
Mrs. Barth's family would like to thank the Plainfield Healthcare Center staff and hospice for their loving care.
