Obituary

Everett J. Wahls, 100, of Chenoa, died at 12:30 pm, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Evenglow Health Center, Pontiac, IL.

His funeral will be 11 am, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa. Visitation will be from 9 to 11am prior to his services at the church on Saturday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa, or Evenglow Health Center, Pontiac.

Mr. Wahls was born February 21, 1914 in Chenoa, the son of Louis and Margaret Schuler Wahls. He married Ethel McKinley on January 13, 1940 in Chenoa. Ethel died May 19, 2006. Everett was a life-long farmer until retirement in 1969.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia (Jim) Faltinek, Glenview, IL; and Jorja (Bob) Stephens, Peoria; four grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Faltinek of Palatine, IL; Marla (Alton) Smith, of St. Louis, MO; Christopher (Ellie) Stephens of Champaign; and Alex (Chelsea) Stephens of Peoria; and 7 great grandchildren, Jackson and Tessa Faltinek, Stella and Ruby Smith and Alex, Maddy and Finn Stephens.

Everett was known for his generosity and positive attitude. He loved music and was an avid piano player which gave him and others such joy throughout his life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Chenoa. Everett will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
