Gibson City – Florence M. Hensen, 92, of Gibson City, passed away at 4:30am, September 11, 2015 at Heritage Manor, Gibson City.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. The Reverend Stephen Goodwin will be officiating.

Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Anchor.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00pm, on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or donor's choice of charity.

Florence was born March 18, 1923 in Anchor the daughter of Fred Edward and Mary A. Bradshaw Friday. She married Delmar Hensen on June 18, 1944. He passed away on October 14, 1968. She then married Alvin Hensen in July of 1970. He passed away in March of 1974.

Surviving are four daughters, Verneal (Franz) Frank of Grand Island, FL, Ginnie (Monty) Teuscher of Gibson City, Ruthie (Rick) Vance, and Mary (Allan) Schultze of Sadorus; step-sons, Dean Hensen of Villa Grove and Keith (Susie) Hensen of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, Katie (Ryan) Robbins, Matt (Amanda) Teuscher, Jeri (Rob) Crawley, Adrienne (Jay) Gillette, Luke (Allison) Teuscher, Sandy (Josh) Jenkins, Steven Frank, Kyle (Kim) Schultze, Meghan (Mike) Peach, Aaron Frank; 12 great-grandchildren, and sister, Ollie (Sarge) Grams.

She was preceded in death by one brother Harold Friday, infant daughter, Lurena Hensen, step-son, Robert Hensen, and step-daughter, Judy Hensen.

Florence graduated from Illinois State Normal University with a teaching certificate and taught for 31 years in Anchor, Saybrook, Cropsey, and Prairie Central. She then tutored until the age of 82.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor.
