Florence M. McBroom, 89 of Chenoa, died at 3:37pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Heritage Healthcare, El Paso.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 28, 2019 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Jeremy Latzke officiating.  Burial will take place at Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am prior to the funeral at the memorial home.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Heritage Healthcare in El Paso and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chenoa.

She was born July 8, 1930 in Chatsworth, a daughter of Fred and Gladys Dennewitz Haase.  She married Edward McBroom on July 7, 1951 in Monmouth, IL.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy (Max) Fever of Chenoa and Leanne (Roger) Rosenberger of East Peoria; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan (Paige) Haase of Palm Harbor, FL and Irvin (Carol) Haase of Monmouth, IL.

She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Florence graduated from Monmouth High School and was a bookkeeper at various area businesses for many years before becoming co-owner of McBroom Variety Store in Chenoa.  She enjoyed working with her hands and made many crocheted items for family and friends.  She also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
