Obituary
Colfax – Frances Marie Johnson, 83, of Colfax, passed away June 21, 2009 at 1:58 pm at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 25, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Casimirs Cemetery, Streator.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 25, 1925 in Kangley the daughter of Michael and Mary Fabina Venegone. She married Gilbert M. Johnson August 30, 1947 in Streator. He died May of 1983.
Surviving are her children, Regina Bellott of Streator and Byron (Kristal) Johnson of Mt. Sterling;
grandchildren, Nicole Johnson of Mt. Sterling, Marcia (Ben) Ko of Oak Park, Rodney (Layla) Johnson of Champaign, Trent (Amanda) Bellott of Bloomington, Kathleen (Erik) Olsen of Chicago, Brian Bellott of Champaign, and Adam (Jami) Johnson of Normal; two great-grandsons, Devon Kuhn and Samuel Ko; sister Catherine Carey of Kinsman; an aunt, Frances Fabina, of Streator.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Venegone.
Mrs. Johnson was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Colfax where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She spent many years as a bus driver, teacher's aide and playground supervisor at Octavia and Ridgeview School Districts.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church , Colfax or Ridgeview School District.
