Fred "Skip" Voeste, 69, of Forrest passed away at 11:45 pm, on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bloomington.
His visitation will be 4 to 7pm, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Cremation rites will be accorded at the conclusion of visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Community Cancer Center, Normal or the charity of the donor's choice.
Skip was born on October 28, 1945 in Gilman, IL; the son of Elzie and Beverly (Parbs) Voeste. He married Helen Stork on January 12, 1981 in Pontiac. She survives in Forrest.
Other survivors include his children, James (Doreen) Voeste of Melbourne, FL; Tania (Mark) Bazzell of Fairbury; Michelle (Andrew) Elder of Chenoa; Brad Voeste of Pontiac; eleven grandchildren, Cody, Dakota, Justus, Cheyanne, Summer, Haley, Javen and Cole Bazzell, Ashtin, Avery and Aidan Elder; and his beloved cat "Bella".
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one infant sister.
Skip loved to hunt and fish on a family farm in Southern Illinois. His sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
