Gary D. Honegger, 70, of Forrest passed away at 8:40 am, Monday, June 1, 2009 at his residence in Forrest.
His funeral service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will follow in Forrest Twp. Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, June 3, 2009 and one hour prior to service on Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. IOOF Lodge #290, Fairbury will have services at 7 pm, Wednesday at the close of the visitation.
Gary was born July 16, 1938 in rural Forrest the son of Paul and Martha (Waibel) Honegger. He married Mary Lee Glose on February 28, 1960 in Roseville, IL. She survives in Forrest.
Also surviving; four sons; Steven (Mary) Honegger, Bethesda, MD, David (Cindy) Honegger, McLean, IL Darren (Debra) Honegger, Springboro, OH, Michael (Mary) Honegger, Third Lake, IL, one daughter; Amy (Clint) Schaffer, Fisher, IL, one brother; Wayne (Eleanor) Honegger, Fairbury, four sisters; Mildred (Glenn) Zimmerman, Forrest, Eileen (Maurice) Getz, IN, Evelyn (Richard) Zorn, Towanda, Nancy (Lloyd) Bachtold, Fairbury and five grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to IOOF Lodge, Fairbury, SELCAS, Fairbury and American Heart Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Gary graduated from FSW High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington. He was a member of ACACIA Fraternity, IOOF Lodge #290, Fairbury. He enjoyed woodworking, flea markets and auctions. He was employed by Weber Plumbing and Heating, Fairbury.
