Gary Charles Skinner of Westfield, Indiana, born October 27, 1946, to parents Harry and Ernestine (West) Skinner of Sibley, Illinois, passed away June 6, 2025, at 78 years of age.

He and his wife of 56 years, Peggy (Wiser), have three children, daughter Michelle (Andrew) Toft of Indianapolis, IN, son Gary of Westfield, IN, and daughter Jennifer (Richard) Cawthorne of Westfield, IN.

He had an exceptionally special bond with his grandchildren Mason Toft, Elise Cawthorne and Lucy Cawthorne as they brought him profound joy and he cherished the precious moments they shared together.

Gary was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in the Dominican Republic and spent his career with Shell Oil Company before retiring in 2004.  He was an avid wood craftsman who loved to golf and to camp.  However, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Sharon Skinner & Judith Skinner, brother Ronald Skinner, brothers-in-law William Krouse and Ronald Barnes and granddaughter Hope Cawthorne.

He leaves behind brother Mark (Jane) Skinner of Gibson City, IL, sister Vic Krouse of Champaign, IL, sister Kay (Russ) Russell of Haslett, TX, sister-in-law Bernice Skinner of Dwight, IL, sister-in-law Pat Barnes of St. Petersburg, FL, brother-in-law Randy (Janet) Wiser of Hudson, IL, brother-in-law Jack (Patty) Wiser of Fairbury, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury, Illinois.
