Obituary
Chenoa: Gary L. Wilkins, 66, of Chenoa, died at 8:55 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at his residence in rural Chenoa with his family by his side.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 pm, today, Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, January 25, 2008 at Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa with Rev. Grant Sension officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.
Gary was born January 16, 1942 in Bloomington, IL a son to Glen and Elizabeth (Miller) Wilkins. He married Joyce Siegmund in Chenoa on May 24, 1963. She survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are two sons: Michael (Dale) Wilkins, Peoria, IL, Joseph (Tammy) Wilkins, Washington, IL, one daughter: Jeannie (Randy) Nabors, Washington, IL, one brother, David (Helen) Wilkins, Chenoa, IL and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Gary was a lifetime farmer in the Chenoa area. He served as Drainage Commissioner for Turtle Creek TWP. and former member of the Flying Farmers. The Wilkins spent the last 15 winters in West Palm Beach, FL. He loved to travel, flying as a private pilot, farming and most of all he loved his family.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Community Cancer Center, Normal, IL or OSF Hospice.
