Genevieve Marie Barnes, 89, Fairbury died at 6:15 pm Friday, November 6, 2009 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 am Wednesday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Dominy Memorial Library or to the Rebekah Lodge #112, both in Fairbury.

Mrs. Barnes was born November 21, 1919 in Pontiac, IL the daughter of Harry John and Lorena Bentley Fienhold. She married Robert Bruce Barnes on October 20, 1940 in Pontiac, IL. He survives in Toluca, IL.

Also surviving is a daughter, Alice Marie Rolph, Goshen, IN, two sons, Bruce Eugene (Marj) Barnes, Fairbury, William Duane (Evic) Barnes, Hudson, IL; one brother, Robert (Anna) Fienhold, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one grandson, Darrin Benjamin Barnes, two brothers, Charles and Richard Fienhold, two sisters, Virginia Wenger and Mary Wetson.

Mrs. Barnes was a 1937 graduate of Pontiac Twp High School and a 1938 graduate of Gallagher Business College. She had been employed at the National Bank of Fairbury for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury, Rebekah Lodge #112 serving as chaplain for many years, the Cheerful Givers Club and Lioness Club
