Gerald W. Kestner, 76, Forrest, died at 7:11 pm Monday, December 26, 2022 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am on Monday, January 2, 2023 followed by his funeral service at 11 am at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. The family will have a private burial at a later date. The family suggests that memorials be directed to the Lena Kestner Special Account c/o Bank of Pontiac.

Gerald Kestner was born May 6, 1946 in Bloomington, IL the son of Karry and Arlene (Sanders) Kestner. He married Lena Moore on September 16, 1967 in Fairbury, IL. She survives in Forrest, IL.

Survivors also include his children: Shane (Dawn) Kestner of Forrest and Dawn (Dave) Shepherd of Fairbury; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Gerald is also survived by his siblings: Beverly Fretty, Gibson City; Sharon Tasker, Gibson City; George (Becky) Kestner, Pontiac; and Ronald (Phyllis) Kestner, Long Point.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents and one sister.

Gerald worked many jobs, but spent most of his career doing maintenance for the Bank of Pontiac, Bluestem Branch.
