Bloomington: Glenda Lou Anderson, 68, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend died 8:02pm Saturday, December 9, 2006 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:15am Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Anderson was born December 14, 1937 at Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of Glen T. & Margaret F. McCullom Atwell. She married Richard C. "Dick" Anderson July 5, 1969 at Fairbury, IL. He survives at Bloomington.
Also surviving are her children: Michael Patrick (Jean Marie) Anderson, Oklahoma City, OK, Ann Margaret (David) Krominga, Pontiac, IL, and Richard Keith (Alytia) Anderson, Philo, IL. Seven grandchildren: Colin and Maren Anderson, Hannah Anderson, Brandon and Anthony Mills, Kati and Kelsi Krominga. Four brothers: Jerry (Nancy) Owens, Tyler, TX, Michael (Kathleen) Atwell, Burelson, TX, Thomas (Michelle) Atwell, Athens, TX, and Greg (Toni) Atwell, Flower Mound, TX.
Glenda is also survived by 2 brother-in-laws, 2 sister-in-laws, her mother-in-law, Virginia Anderson, 5 nephews, 6 nieces, her closest friends Bruce and Janet Hammitt, and her unofficial adopted sister, Trish Peters.
She is preceded in death by her parents and step father Warren Woods.
Glenda was a graduate of University High School and had attended Illinois State University.
She had been a Sarah Coventry representative who had lead sales for the company for 2 years. She later was promoted to division manager. Glenda also had been employed as a secretary at Computer Information Systems at ISU retiring in 1999. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairbury and the Women of the Moose Lodge, Bloomington. She was an Avid Tim McGraw & country music fan. Her hobbies included ceramics and cross stitching.
The family suggests memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
