Anchor – Glenda S. Stewart, 66, of Anchor, passed away October 5, 2012 at Asta Care Center of Colfax.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00am, Monday, October 8, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Kathryn Bielfeldt will be officiating.

Burial will be in Anchor Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3-6:00pm, Sunday, October 7, 2012 also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Home Sweet Home Mission.

Glenda was born January 18, 1946 in Bloomington, the daughter of Samuel and Erma Powell Ferguson.

She married Daniel Stewart on June 18, 1966 in Colfax.

He survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Sarah (Chris) Schultze of Edmund, OK and four grandsons, Stewart, Augustus, Alexander, and Isaac Schultze.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and one son Mark Douglas Stewart.

She graduated from Octavia High School in 1964. She then graduated as a registered nurse from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Urbana. During high school, college and after college Glenda worked at Fairbury Hospital for 15 years. She then worked at Gibson City Clinic for 10 years, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Bloomington, where she was assistant director of nursing, and director of nursing at Octavia Manor for 10 years. Glenda retired from Heritage Enterprises after 10 years. Her proudest achievement in her nursing career was teaching over 3000 future CNA's. She also helped he husband farm in the Anchor area.

She was a member of American Nurses Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.
