Glenn Richard "Dick" Kirchner, 81 of Fairbury, died at 11:15pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Children's Hospital of Illinois, Peoria.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, have charge of arrangements.

Dick was born September 19, 1938 in Fairbury, the son of Harry Francis and Cynthia Louis Busby Kirchner.  He married Judith Ann Kurtenbach on March 9, 1969 in Chatsworth.  She preceded him in death on April 28, 2005.

Survivors include his daughter, Lori Kirchner and son, Eric (Aimee) Kirchner, both of Normal and three grandchildren, Gretchen Stanfa, Ben Stanfa and Gwen Kirchner.

Dick is a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his time in Panama.  He was a tire repairman for Steidinger Tires in Fairbury for 47 years before his retirement.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairbury and the American Legion of Fairbury.  He served on the Fairbury Fair board and also dedicated his time as a volunteer at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway for many years.
