Gloria Burnias , 74, of Chenoa, passed away at 7:16 pm, Sunday, November 8, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
A private family funeral will be held and burial will take place at Chenoa Township Cemetery. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. Memorials left in Gloria's name my be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gloria was born November 26, 1945, in McAllen, TX; the daughter of Manuel and Andrea (Solarzano) Tanguma. She married Juan Burnias on June 26, 1966. He passed away on July 3, 2012. Her parents and one brother, Juan Tanguma also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny (Martin McDonough) Burnais of New York, NY and Elmo Burnias of Chenoa. two brothers, Manuel (Elvia) Tanguma of Mission, TX; Roy (Lupe) Tanguma of Danville; one sister, Mary (Tim) Chilton of Urbana; and sister in-law, Celestina Tanguma.
Gloria worked at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Meadows for many years. As a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa; she served in many different capacities, always grateful for the ability to serve her church. She was a true Christ Loving Mother, who took her role as a mother with great honor and responsibility, to love, care and protect her family till the end. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
