Goldia Sasse, of Fairbury, IL passed away at 2:54am, January 20, 2025, following 100 years of caring and meaningful life.

Goldia was born December 14, 1924, in Robards, KY, the daughter of Randal and Ora Lee (Denton) Steele. She married Charles D. Sasse on January 23, 1944, and they were about to celebrate 81 years of loving marriage.

Goldia is survived by her husband Charles; 5 children, Charles E. (Sherry), Gary (Barbara), Stephen, Sharon Mowery, and Glenda (Rodney) Fike; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and 2 (of 12) siblings, Doris and Charlotte.

Goldia was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered and served the community in many ways.  She enjoyed quilting, arts and crafts, morning walks, gardening, cooking, and sharing time and hearts with family and friends.

Goldia last resided, with Charlie, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am Monday January 27, followed by funeral services at 11:30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairbury, and a lunch downstairs.  Between the service and lunch will be a brief family vigil at Graceland Cemetery.  Arrangements have been provided by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
