Mahomet – Gordon Leonard Bertram 65, of Mahomet, died March 3, 2009 at 1:25p.m. at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with visitation from 1-3:00 p.m. Pastor Kim Ernst will be officiating. Cremation will take place following the services.
Gordon was born November 2, 1942 in Danville the son of Leonard and Dorothy Denny Bertram. They preceded him in death. He married Anise Wagoner on May 16, 1964 in Atika, IN. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Tim (Brenda) Bertram of Lexington, William (Sammie) Bertram of Trinity, TX and Angela (James) Ball of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Derek Bertram, Dalton and Ashley Bertram, Mindy Bertram, and Nicole, Lesley and Elizabeth Ball; brothers, Tom (Marion) Bertram of Eureka and Kenneth (Virginia) Bertram of Aberdeen, NC; sisters, Wilma Gholson of Hoopston and Judy (Ed) Curtin of Bandgar, Maine. Gordon was preceded in death by one brother Harold.
Gordon was an over the road truck driver for Unarcorohn Manufacturing in Peoria. He is a member of the Champaign Sportsman's Club. Gordon enjoyed boating, fishing, and collecting replicas of farm machinery.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Hospice of Choice or Cumberland Senior Program.
