Obituary
Fairbury – Grace Thelma Lawrence, 95, of Fairbury passed away on November 28, 2011 at her residence.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Fairbury. Pastor Steve Anderson will be officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be held from 3-7:00pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Fairbury and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or the donor's choice of charity.
Grace was born September 17, 1916 in Fairbury the daughter of Seymour and Sarah Hurt Norris.
She married Harry Lawrence on March 25, 1936. He died October 1, 1955.
Surviving are her children; Jack (Betty) Lawrence of Fairbury, Jean (Lee) Evans of Pontiac, and Vicki Lawrence of Fairbury; daughter-in-law, Betty Lawrence of Fairbury; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clifton (Kathryn) Norris of Broken Arrow, OK, Melvin Norris of Lynnwood, WA, and Lenver (Yoshie) Norris of South Bend, WA.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard and one daughter, Della Kinkade.
Grace was a seamstress at Fairbury Garment for many years.
She loved and put much love into quilts she sewed for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed her Wednesday afternoon bible study and was a devoted and helpful friend.
