Obituary

Grant Hunter Bressner 9 mos. Of Elsberry, MO, passed away at 1:37 pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Children's Hospital of Illinois, Peoria, IL

Cremation rites have been accorded. Friends may greet the family from 4 to 8pm Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Grant Hunter Bressner Memorial Fund c/o Busey Bank.

Grant was born January 3, 2010 in Normal the son of Gretchen Russell and Darren Bressner. They survive in Elsberry, MO along with his twin sister Grace Bressner.

Also surviving are maternal great-grandmother, Tillie Harms of Chenoa; maternal grandmother, Sally Russell of Chenoa; paternal great-grandfather, Glenn Bressner of Fairbury; paternal grandfather Gale Bressner of Colfax; aunts and uncles, Penny (Willy) Clem, Philo, Glenn (Leslie) Bressner, Champaign, David Russell, Chenoa; great-aunts and uncles; Susan Joseph, FL, Marylee (David) Harms, Fairbury, Dave (Diane) Ahlemeyer, Fairbury, Sandy (Jack) Bradford, MT, Dennis (Jennifer) Bressner, Fairbury, Gerald (Donna) Holland, Fairbury, Tom (Dawn) Holland, Rockford, Ethel Slagell, Gridley, Roger Holland, Granite City, Sam (Petie) Holland, Mondamin, IA, Patty (Augi) Schmitz, Sarasota, FL, Robert (Dee) Holland, Des Moines, IA, Margie (Jack) Hohenshell, Kansas City, KS, Jenny (Wayne) Erber, Chesapeake, VA; cousins, Kate (Travis) Walters and Josh Harms of Fairbury and many other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfather, Emmett Harms, paternal great grandmother, Virginia Bressner and paternal grandmother, Donna Bressner.

Grant's family is so grateful for the brief time that they had with him. He was such an amazing young boy who always had a smile on his face especially when he was in the company of his twin sister Grace. The family takes comfort in knowing he was greeted at Heaven's Gates by his grandma Donna, great grandpa Emmett, great grandma Virginia and great uncle J.J.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a rare genetic disorder that the family would like to raise awareness of. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our friends, family and the staff at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for all your support through this difficult time. He will forever live in our hearts.
