Obituary
Elizabeth Guo Dan Reis, 25, Fairbury, died at 10:38 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury where a rosary will be recited at 2:00pm. The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Nursing Home Dietary Department, Fairbury or to the Guo Dan Reis memorial fund.
Guo Dan was born August 18, 1986 in Hunan, China and adopted by John B. and Jan Ellen Reis on July 6, 2000. They survive in Fairbury.
Also surviving are three brothers, Anthony J. Reis, Bloomington, IL, Andrew T. Reis, Alexander W. Reis, two sisters, Anna Y. Reis, Katherine L. Reis, maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth Ricketts, paternal grandparents, John and Rosie Reis II, all of Fairbury, IL.
She is preceded in death by her brother, John B. Reis IV and a maternal grandfather, Lyle Ricketts.
Guo Dan was a 2008 graduate of Prairie Central High School. She was employed at the dietary department of Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury and was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury.
