Fairbury – Harold D. Martin, 64, of Fairbury, passed away at 8:07am, Monday, June 17, 2013 at his daughter's home in Forrest.
Harold's funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Friday, June 21, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Fairbury. Pastor Daryl Evans will be officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Fairbury VFW Post #9789 and John Joda American Legion Post #54 Fairbury.
Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
Visitation will be held from 5-8:00pm, Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9-9:45am on Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family or the American Cancer Society.
Harold was born August 5, 1948 in Mcleansboro, the son of Harley R. and Wilma Hutchcraft Martin.
Surviving are the mother of his children, Sherryl Martin of Fairbury; daughters, Jennifer (Doug) Bazzell of Forrest and Sherry (Karl) Taylor of Forrest; son, Jason Martin of Forrest; grandchildren, Trystin and Baylee Bazzell, Jacie Martin, Jayla, Bryant, Jaxson, and Jerzee Martin, Dwayne, Samantha, Eli, and Masa Taylor; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Geri (John) Wiles of Chatsworth, Norma (Franklin) Fosdick of Fairbury, Mary (Bill) Decker of Grand Rivers, KY, Connie (Doug) Aberle of Lake Bloomington, LaVerne (Mark) Aberle of Chatsworth, and Delores (Bob Fauber)Meiss of Heyworth; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during
Vietnam.
He worked for Honegger Feed Mill for 22 years.
Harold was a lifetime member of VFW Post in Fairbury and a member of the American Feed and Grain Federation.
Harold loved camping, boating, and stock car racing. He especially enjoyed loving his grandchildren.
