Lexington – Harold Delbert Martins, 91, of Chenoa formerly of Lexington, passed away September 27, 2011 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.
Harold's funeral will be at 11:00am, Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Duffy-PIls Memorial Home, Colfax, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor David Bergelin will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Memorials in Harold's name may be left to Meadows Mennonite Home.
Harold was born March 3, 1920 in Cooksville the son of August and Alma Ernst Martins.
He married Alice Grosse who preceded him in death in 1980. He later married Joan Schmid who preceded him in death in 2010.
Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Ada Hall, Fern Harder and Oneida Harder.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Sam) Kelley; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marian Kay.
Harold was a graduate of Cooksville Community High School and a veteran of the Army Air Corps. He retired from the State of Illinois in 1987. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lexington.
