Harry Bruce Slaughter's Obituary
Harry Bruce Slaughter, 89, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax and formerly of Fairbury died at 11:05 am Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Heritage Manor, Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 7, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:45 am Monday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church, Fairbury.
Mr. Slaughter was born July 8, 1920 in Fairbury, IL the son of Bert C. and Gertrude Rockwood Slaughter.
Survivors include one niece, Norma Jean (Raymond) Gabriel, Westchester, IL and one nephew, Richard (Marlene) Slaughter, Park Ridge, IL.
He is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Slaughter was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury. He had been employed at Honegger Mills, Fairbury for 41 years, retiring in 1985.
