Helen Maxine Bryant, 94, Chenoa, passed away at 3:55 pm Monday, November 7, 2016 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 11, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, Chenoa with Pastor James Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and 10:00 to 10:45 am Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church, Chenoa.
Mrs. Bryant was born on the C.H. Fosdick farm on July 3, 1922 a daughter of Earl Albert and Tressie Lee Jenkins Fosdick. She is survived by her husband, Eldon L. Bryant. They were joined in marriage by the late Reverend R.G. Hershey on February 28, 1947 at his home now, the historic Jones house in Pontiac, IL. They would have celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary this coming February.
Also surviving are one daughter, Nancy L. Waschle, Pontiac, two grandchildren, Aaron J. (Emily Murphy) Waschle, Pontiac, Jaime L. (Gary) Wykes, Odell, three great grandchildren, Carter Wm and Gavin Bryant Wykes and Alivia Maxine Waschle.
She is preceded in death by three children, Joe, David and Peggy and one sister, Doris Mae Elson.
Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker who had been employed at the Chenoa grade school cafeteria and Cargill Seed, Pontiac.
She enjoyed scrapbooking newspaper clippings, writing and sending letters and cards to family and friends. She loved to bake and was especially known for her zucchini bread. Mrs. Bryant also loved to share the bounty of her garden with family and friends.
