Helen Louise Meister, 70, Fairbury died at 11:30 am Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A private funeral service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 with the ministers of the German Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury officiating. Burial will be in East Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury has charge of arrangements.

She was born January 11, 1947 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Fehr) Meister.

Surviving are four brothers, John M. (Nancy) Meister, Martin J. (Marjorie) Meister, and Leroy E. (Marsha) Meister, all of Fairbury; Duane A. (Karen) Meister, Ashkum; six sisters, Evelyn (Harold) Neukomm, Fairbury; Mary K. (Dave) Gilman, Pontiac; Barbara A. (Bill Lawrence) Meister, Homosassa, FL; Bernice L. (Peter) Hinrich, Clifton; Alice R. (Glenn) Saathoff and Rebecca R. (Gary) Merkle, both of Ashkum and one brother-in-law, Tom Kurtenbach, Chatsworth.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Caroline Marie Meister, Jean Kurtenbach and one brother-in-law, Robert Hull.

Helen was a member of the German Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.

Helen was a wonderful caregiver all her life who enjoyed gardening, crocheting and was an active walker. She loved her pet canary "Benji".

The family suggests memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital; Make A Wish Foundation or the Fairbury Food Pantry.
