Helen Marie Williams, 82 of Colfax passed away at 5:00 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with Pastor Patti Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, November 1, 2013 also at the memorial home in Colfax. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Colfax Christian Church – Building Fund, Colfax.
Helen was born on April 24, 1931 in Bloomington the daughter of Alva and Etta (Maple) Storment. She married Edmund Williams on July 6, 1950 in Anchor, IL. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2000. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one infant sister and best friend, Don Dunn in 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise (Tom) Mackenzie of Newport News, VA; Jenifer (Kevin) Joyce of Seattle, WA; six grandchildren, Anthony Raspanti, Patrick, Kinsley and Keenan Joyce, Christopher and Ian Mackenzie; three great grandchildren, Trenton Raspanti, Caleb Eaker, Rhianna Pena'; three sisters, Rose Etta (Jack) Houchens of Colfax; Elmyra (George) Taylor of Sun City, AZ; Judith (Harold) Withers of Scottsdale, AZ; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams was employed by G.E. in Bloomington for over 34 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Colfax Christian Church, Colfax Hustler's Society, the Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge, both in Bloomington. Helen enjoyed life to its fullest and dancing was her passion.
