Irma Irene Ray, 77, Fairbury died 7:28 am Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Hosselton Funeral Home, Cisne, IL with interment at Cisne Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday at Hosselton Funeral Home, Cisne.
Mrs. Ray was born January 25, 1930 at Summit Twp, Effingham County, IL. The daughter of Emanuel and Lorena Ann Homan Knierim. She married Ralph Lowell Ray January 31, 1948 at Carmi, IL. He died July 12, 1986.
Surviving are two daughters, Lorena Ann (Charles) Phelps, Holcomb, IL and Christena Jo (Carl) Ross, Danvers, IL. Three sons, Roy Owen (Pauline) Ray, Pontiac, IL, Steven Allen (Beth) Ray, Emington, IL, and Larry Gene (Betty) Ray, Fairbury, IL. Also surviving is one sister, Laura Baker, Effingham, IL, 12 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 21 step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ray was a 1948 graduate of Effingham High School. She was a homemaker who had been employed at Nichols Homeshield, Chatsworth, Motorola/Quasar, Pontiac, CTS of Fairbury, and later the Fairbury Dress Factory. She also volunteered at OSF Hospice, Pontiac. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Fairbury.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the OSF Hospice, Pontiac, the Church of Christ or Fairview Haven Nursing Home both of Fairbury.
