Obituary
James Derek Lawrence, 48, Fairbury died at 3:30pm Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the 1st Baptist Church, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 4:-6:45pm Thursday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements. The family suggest memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association or to the charity of their choice.
Jim was born October 14, 1965 in Fairbury, IL the son of Jack E. and Betty L. Hetherington Lawrence. They survive in Fairbury, IL.
Other survivors include two brothers, Lance (Deb Hardesty) Lawrence, Chip Lawrence, one sister, Connie (John) Haas, all of Fairbury, three aunts, Kathryn Hall, Vicki Lawrence, Betty J. Lawrence, and his special nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, Chelsey Lawrence, McKenna Haas, Kody Haas, Zachary Lawrence, Landon Lawrence and Dalton Lawrence.
Jim was a 1984 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and was currently employed by the City of Fairbury. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Illini and NASCAR.
