James "Jim" Merideth, 66, Cropsey, died at 10:04 pm Saturday, August 18, 2012 at his residence in Cropsey, IL after a year long battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Cropsey Twp. Cemetery, Cropsey with the Rev. Paulette Cott officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 to noon also on Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of their choice.
Mr. Merideth was born April 3, 1946 in Louisville, KY the son of Charlie and H. Eileen Carroll Merideth. He married Mary Kemp on April 8, 1964 in Cullom, IL. He then married Katie Wade on August 18, 1998 in Pontiac, IL. She survives in Cropsey, IL.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kim (Monte) Grady, Galesburg, IL, Stacy (Rick) Merideth-Payne, London, KY, six grandchildren, Ashley (Ron) Tribley, Phillip Short, Kayla (Wes) Walker, Mitchell (Holly Palmero) Short, Jennifer Payne, Courtney Merideth, one great grandson, Kashus Edward Short, one great granddaughter due any day, two step sons, Ivel (Tonya) Wade, Fairbury, IL, Robert (Virginia) Wade, Oklahoma City, OK, seven step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two brothers, Charles (Linda) Merideth, Roundhill, KY, Carl (Lou) Merideth, Chatsworth, IL, two sisters, Joan (Mike) Yoakem, KY, and Mary Lou Durbin, Brownsville, KY.
He is preceded in death by his best friend and son, Roger Edward Merideth, one great grandson, Keaton Walker, his parents, and a sister, Linda Carroll.
Jim had been employed at Meier Trucking for twenty years and eight years at Pontiac RV from where he retired. He loved his family and will be sadly missed.
