Bloomington – James "Uncle Jim" H. Miller, 54, of Bloomington, formerly of Chenoa, passed away on September 22, 2014 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Chenoa Baptist Church. Pastor Christian Ricker will be officiating.
Burial will be in Chenoa Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014 also at the Chenoa Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association or the donor's choice of charity.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
Jim was born April 16, 1960 in Chicago, the son of Rev. Henry A. and Carolene Holly Miller.
He married Annette Wilkinson on March 21, 1981 in Aurora. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Tremont; his children, Christopher (Dacia) Miller of Amarillo, TX, Thomas H. (Jodi) Miller of Chenoa, and Holly (ET1 Joshua) Brantley of Porter Corner, NY; nieces and nephews that Jim fostered, Stacey (Shawn) Christiansen of Fairbury, Mike (Trisha) Johnson of Chenoa, Katie Johnson and Jeremiah Johnson both of Fairbury; grandchildren, Everett, Hazel, Kolby, Chloe and Piper; brother, Brian (Sue) Miller of Yorkville; sister, Shari Muehlich of Tremont; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jeff Muehlich.
Jim was currently working as a truck driver for Con-Way Freight and a Gunsmith. Previously he owned and operated Miller Brother Sports in Chenoa.
He was a member of Marion Ave Baptist Church in Aurora, the National Rifle Association, and the Illinois State Rifle Association.
"Uncle Jim" put others first and loved and cared for his nieces, nephews and many, many others.
Jim loved and cherished his family.
The magnitude of love Jim had for others and others had for him will be forever missed.
