Obituary

Jane E. Steidinger completed her Earthly journey at her home on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 7:14 a.m. due to new brain tumors.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Gridley with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45am Wednesday at the church.

Jane was born on September 6, 1947, a ray of sunshine to Reuben and Carolyn (Walter) Fehr. She made many rich memories the entirety of her life with brothers Glenn (Kathryn), Wayne (Norma), Kenneth (Linda), and Warren (Shirley) and sisters Darlene (Elmer) Stork, Loida (Ron) Mueller, Kathleen (Lynn) Slagel, Pat (Don) Menold and Susan (Richard) Mastronardi.
She joyfully committed her life to following the Lord in October of 1963 and then answered 'yes' to marrying Dennis Steidinger on April 5th of 1970. Jane was a devoted wife and loving mother. During their wonderful 43 years of marriage they raised eight children: Michael (Holly), Fairbury; Philip (Lana), Sharpsburg, Georgia; Joy (Jason) Kilgus, Leo, Indiana; Matthew (Janelle), Sao Paulo, Brazil; Timothy (Amy), Fairbury; Mark (JaNae) Fairbury; Hope (Ryan)Stoller, Gridley; Faith, Normal. She also had 28 grandchildren and spending time with them was one of her greatest joys.

Together they lived and worked on a dairy farm, began and operated Living Greenery Greenhouses for 18 years, and then traveled many places across the world—marveling in God's creation. She had an ear for the widow and a heart for the orphan. Jane will be most remembered by her selfless attitude—being like Jesus and always putting everyone else first. She was a faithful follower of her Lord and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wants to acknowledge the excellent Hospice care Jane received in her home.
