Janet E. Dameron, 78, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully on May 2, 2012 at Lake View Home, La Mesa, Ca. She was born to parents, Hazel (Finley) and Merle Hewitt of Chenoa, Illinois on March 10, 1934. Janet found her best friend and partner Eldon Wayne Dameron in 10th grade at Chenoa H.S. where they were both 1952 graduates. Janet and Wayne shared a wonderful 56 years of marriage that was an example to all who knew them. She attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois. A longtime resident of Spring Valley, California (San Diego), she started her own income tax and bookkeeping business and became an Enrolled Agent. She was a member and retired employee of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Spring Valley, California. She volunteered countless hours with many organizations including her church and served on many boards including the Illini Club of San Diego, PTA, Soroptimist Club of Chula Vista, and received a Congressional Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding service to the community. She loved music, reading, traveling, genealogy, being a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to know her. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law, Melba and Elvyn Dameron, sister Wiladene Jacobs, brother Lynden Hewitt, and sister in law, Eleanor Corder. She is survived by her husband Eldon Wayne Dameron, son Russell (Wendy) Dameron, daughter Susan (Tom Jr.) Grojean, sister Norma (Merlin) Eash, brother in law Dick (Jeri) Jacobs, sister in law Marilyn Hewitt, grandchildren Thomas Grojean III, Grant Grojean, Chandler Dameron, Kristine Dameron, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation Sunday, May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Duffy Pils Memorial Home in Chenoa, Illinois. The funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Chenoa on Monday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chenoa Cemetery.
