Janet Kay Rasmus, 67, of Chenoa, passed away on May 10, 2008 at 6:41AM at her home following an extended hospital stay. Her loving husband and daughters brought her home to go home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 4-8:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with the recitation of the rosary by her sister-in-law at 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chenoa with visitation from 9-9:45AM. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating with Rev. Chet Travis giving a eulogy. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery.
Janet was born on January 14, 1941 in Bloomington the daughter of Melvin and Virginia Ummel Feit. They preceded her in death. She married Jack Rasmus on August 15, 1959 in Lexington. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Corinna (Mick) Keneipp of Chenoa, Jane (Kevin) Morrison of Chenoa and Joanna (Scott) Sauer of Bloomington; grandchildren, Cindy Griffin, Ginny, and Mandy Keneipp, Lindsey, Laura, Lisa, and Leslie Morrison and Caleb Sauer; one great granddaughter, Alexis Whicker; one brother Ed (Carol) Feit of Chenoa and one sister Joyce (Bill) Leuchtenberg of Lexington.
Janet was preceded in death by one daughter Theresa Rasmus.
She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chenoa were she is a past member of the Alter and Rosary Society.
Janet was a homemaker and worked for Ingle's TV and Dorman's IGA.
She loved baking special treats for her family, playing cards, Scrabble, puzzles and crocheting. She was always taking care of others but her family always came first. She especially loved being a grandma and great grandma.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Chenoa Ambulance Service Association.
