Jerry Thomas Russell, 60, of Chenoa passed away at 1:23 am, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington after a 25 year battle with Crohn's Disease.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside Inurnment will take place in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
Jerry was born June 6, 1953 in Chesterton, MD; the son of William and Matilda (Uhrinak) Russell. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sisters, Hannah G. Russell of Bloomington; Jean E. Russell of Tacoma, WA; and one brother, Earl Russell of Tacoma, WA; one niece, Johanna Russell of Bloomington; two nephews, Brandon and Eric Russell of Tacoma, WA; one great nephew, Zach Russell of Tacoma, WA; and special friends, Larry and Rose Seal of Chenoa.
Jerry worked for Bloomington Fire Dept. for several years and later was employed by Pontiac Correctional Facility as an EMT until health issues forced him into early retirement. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, including his beloved dogs and cats.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to "CISAR" Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue, Colfax.
