Jerry A. Stephens, 76, Pontiac and formerly of Fairbury, died at 5:33 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Good Samaritan, Pontiac.

His funeral will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating.  Burial will be in Avoca Twp. Cemetery, rural Fairbury.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 1:00 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to OSF Hospice, Bloomington.

Jerry was born February 28, 1942 in Fairbury, IL the son of Vernon L. and Olive L. Harms Stephens.  He married Jan Elaine Purdum on September 2, 1962 in Fairbury.  She preceded him in death on March 4, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Scott L. (Joyce) Stephens, Oregon, IL, Randall J. (Angela) Stephens, San Diego, CA, five grandchildren, Libby Stephens, Carly Stephens, Deven Sharma, Diya Sharma and Crosby Stephens, one brother, Keith (Barbara) Stephens, Columbia, MO and one sister, Cheryl Rork.

He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dan Rork.

Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and Midstate Business College, Peoria.  He served in the National Guard and was a lifetime farmer.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury, Ethels Lodge, Forrest, Pontiac Elks Club and Indian Creek Country Club, Fairbury.
