Obituary
Colfax – Jimmie D. Towner, 62, of Colfax passed away at 6:17pm on December 18, 2012 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Rev. Roberta Preston will be officiating.
Friends may greet the family from 10-11:00am on Saturday also at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Asta Care Center of Colfax Activity Department or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.
Jimmie was born December 16, 1950 in Bloomington the son of Floyd "Jr" and Katherine "Irene" Kelly. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are his sister, Koleen (Brian) Kuta, nephew, Daniel Kuta, niece, Liz Kuta all of Colfax, and his dog Buddy.
Jimmie was a truly remarkable man. He had an effect on everyone he met and he never knew a stranger. He lived the last 34 years of his life from a wheelchair yet till the very end he maintained his sense of humor, thankfulness and will to live.
We miss him now but celebrate the fact that he is now standing in the presence of our Lord.
