Jimmy Dale Henson, 58 of Fairbury, passed away at 2:00 am, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Jimmy Henson Memorial Fund.
Jimmy was born July 17, 1953 in Monette, AR the son of William A. and Lorene (Secercy) Henson. He married Debra Kay Schmidtgall on August 2, 1975 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury. She survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeremy Wayne Henson of Fairbury; Nicholas Dale Henson (Rachael Sears) of Lexington; his mother and father in-law, Leroy and Mary Schnidtgall, brother in-law, Johnny (Kathy) Schmidtgall all of Fairbury; four grandchildren, Natalie Lucille Henson, Nadia Rose Henson, Zavier Bruce Wayne Henson, Noelle Nadee Henson, nine siblings, Della (Carl) Vennatter, AR; David (Louise) Henson, FL; Barbara (Roy) Milligan, AR; William (Margaret) Henson, FL; Floyd Henson, FL; Roy (Beth) Henson, FL; Carl (Bonnie) Henson, AR; Pam Henson, FL; Ervin (Lisa) Henson, FL and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie and Arlis Henson and brother in-law, Wayne Schmidtgall.
Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with a strong faith in God. He had been employed as a Millwright for Koehl Bros. Inc. in Fairbury. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, gardening but his greatest joy was to spend time with his wife, sons, grandchildren and extended family. He was a hard working man with a big smile, loving heart and quick sense of humor that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
