Forrest – J. N. Bach, 95, of Forrest, passed away on May 25, 2008 at 11:17AM at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 5-7:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home with Jerry Good officiating.
Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charity or WD Boyce Council Boy Scouts of America for Cache Lake Camp.
J.N. was born May 15, 1913 in Fairbury, the son of J.N. and Lydia (von Tobel) Bach, Sr. They preceded him in death.
He married Anne M. Morris on October 1, 1936. She died October 31, 2006. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Jan M. (Dalia) Bach of St. Charles and Eric L. "Bones" (Cindy) Bach of Bloomington; one daughter, Gaylon H. (Gerald) Gwin of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
J.N. was a member of the Church of Christ in Fairbury.
He was the owner and operator of his family business J.N. Bach Sons Lumber in Forrest and Fairbury until 1973 and then began working for Beer Nuts for 29 years.
He volunteered and held many positions with the Boy Scouts for 70 years. He was honored by the Canadian Government which named the Bay in front of Cache Lake Camp "Bach Bay."
J.N. was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and canoeing.
