Obituary
Joan L. Gaston, 77, Fairbury, died at 12:05pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence in Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church. The family suggest memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
Mrs. Gaston was born June 25, 1937 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Orie Phillip and Ernestine Marie Rapp Stoller. She married John A. Gaston on July 18, 1981 in Fairbury, IL. He died on November 8, 1995.
Surviving are three brothers, Melvin (Inge) Stoller, Cincinnati, Ohio, Richard (Karen) and Dale (Sandra) Stoller, both of Fairbury, one sister-in-law, Maxine Stoller, Ft. Myers, FL, 15 nieces and nephews, and 50 great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ivan Stoller and one great nephew.
Mrs. Gaston graduated from Fairbury-Cropsey High School in 1955 and the Mennonite College of Nursing in 1958. Joan worked at the Langstaff-Moscicki Clinic in Fairbury from 1958-1990. She later worked at Fairview Haven Retirement Community.
Joan had a special love for each of her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She attended the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church.
