Joan Williams Lewke, 87, Hillsdale, MI formerly of Fairbury died at 5:04pm Friday, October 30, 2009 at her residence in MI..
Mrs. Lewke was born November 11, 1921 in Fairbury the daughter of Harold "Jack" and Elva Van Fossan Williams. She married Walter G. Lewke I on November 14, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas. He died on May 14, 1988.
Surviving is a son Dr. Walter G. Lewke II, Hillsdale, MI and several nieces and nephews including Duane and Diana Currington.
Mrs. Lewke graduated from Fairbury Twp. High School in 1939 and Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, Peoria, IL in 1943. She was a registered nurse.
Graveside inurnment will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangments.
The family suggests memorials be given to Best Friends, Kanab, Utah.
