Colfax – JoAnn Reum, 81, of Normal formally of Colfax, passed away at 7:50 am, July 31, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Normal.
Cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the donor's choice of charity.
JoAnn was born October 7, 1929 in Hindsboro the daughter of Clarence Bernard and Martha Cox Wooten.
She married Orville Oscar Reum on October 7, 1946 in Chenoa. He died September 22, 2009 in Normal.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandra (Raymond) Stauffer of East Peoria, Teresa Louise Reum of Indianapolis, IN, and Gloria J. Mott of Bloomington; two sisters, Betty (Chet) Wince of Forrest and Ella Rose (Ken) Niccum of Barry.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Ronald Mott, and five sisters, Wanda Frantz, Clara Jane White, Thelma Hicks, Helen Stephens, Opal Brewer.
She was at home while the girls were growing up. She then worked at the Glove Factory and later Motorola both in Pontiac; and Admiral and GE both in Bloomington. During that time she also cleaned houses in Gibson City. She and her husband, Orville owned JoAnn's Café in Colfax from 1961-1969. She then worked as a breakfast cook and waitress at Fincham's Steakhaus in Colfax, retiring in 1993.
Mom will be cherished forever as a loving and caring wife and mother by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
