John Nelson Householder, 69, Mims, FL and formerly of Fairbury, passed away at 9:35 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Cloud, FL.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 10, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Stephen Goodwin officiating. Inurnment will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with full military rites accorded by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts.

Visitation will be 10:00 – 10:45 am Monday also at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Serenity Village; First Presbyterian Church; SELCAS, all of Fairbury.

Mr. Householder was born October 31, 1947 in Fairbury, IL the son of John Leroy and Dorothy Hieronymous Householder.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Householder, Fairbury; sister, Nancy (John) Fry, Scottsdale, AZ; Nicole (Mark) Borgman, Mesa, AZ; and a special friend, Kathy Sears, St. Cloud, FL.

Mr. Householder served in the United States Marine Corps (July 1, 1967 – Feb. 3, 1971) obtaining the rank of staff sergeant. He then enlisted and served in the United States Air Force (July 26, 1971 – April 15, 1975).
