Bloomington – John C. "Jack" Schroeder, 77 of Bloomington, died at 10:38pm, Monday, July 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Cremation rites have been accorded and private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Jack's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Mayo Clinic, or the Shriner's. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, has charge of arrangements.
Jack was born April 10, 1942 in Normal, IL, a son of John and Helen Schroeder. He married Kay Juhler on February 14, 2001 in Bloomington. She survives. His parents, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and one granddaughter preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, four step-daughters, Kathy (Frank) Arbogast, Lori (Mike) Fairfield both of Pontiac, Kim Russell of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Kelly (Paul) Legg of St. Charles, IL; seven grandchildren, Jill, Tiffany, Shawn, Kelsey, Haley, Phoebe and Aidan; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Karen (Jim) Paranzino of Summerfield, FL; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Ruth) Juhler of Arlington, TX and Phil Roberts of Belt, MT.; dearest friends, Doug & Donna Hornickel.
He graduated from Normal Community High School. He retired from Admiral Corp. after 28 years. He then worked for Walmart for 30 years before his retirement in March 2019.
Jack was an avid bowler, the best left-handed bowler in Bloomington, being inducted into the Bloomington Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed playing marbles every Saturday night with friends. He was a very avid Cubs fan and never missed a game. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He will always be loved and missed very deeply.
