Towanda – John "Jack" Jenkins, 77, of Towanda passed away April 5, 2009 at 9:33 a.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. Private family services will be held on Thursday with burial in Chenoa Township Cemetery.

Jack was born January 16, 1932 in Chenoa the son of William Calvin and Daisy Ochla Howell Jenkins. They preceded him in death. He married Rita Wink on June 13, 1954 in Normal. She survives in Towanda

Also surviving are his children Jan (Warren) Schaffer of Lexington, Jon (Roma) Jenkins of Fort Dodge, IA, Kim Nussbaum of Bloomington, Kay (Greg) Shaw of Towanda and Lyn Jenkins of Hudson; 16 grandchildren, Justin (Milana) Schaffer, Ashley (Ryan) Litwiller, Trent, Jared and Trevor Schaffer, Katie Jenkins, John Paul Jenkins, Drew (Billie Joe) Nussbaum, Troy, Cory, and Jeni Nussbaum, Erin (JJ) Edwards, Joshua Shaw, Ryan Cole and Mitchell and Taylor Hish; three great-grandchildren, Nate Shaw, Cameryn Nussbaum and Seyana Schaffer; brother Gene (Barb) Jenkins of Foley, AL and sister Mary Bash of Chenoa.
He was preceded in death by one brother Glenn.

Jack was very active in his community and loved spending time with his friends and family.
