Colfax - John Raymond "Jock" Marquis, 75, of Colfax passed away at 5:04Pm July 31, 2009 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal

Cremation will be accorded.
A celebration of Jock's life will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Colfax United Methodist Church. Friends may
greet the family on Tuesday from 4:30-6:00pm.

Jock was born June 9, 1934 in Normal, the son of DuBois and Margaret Raymond Marquis. They preceded him in death.
He married Joanne Martensen on July 1, 1956 in Anchor. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Ann Elizabeth (Alan) Fisher of Pleasanton, CA, Susan Margaret (Jeff) Givens of McKinney, TX
and one son, John David (Lori) Marquis of Herscher; grandchildren, Kelly and Matthew Fisher; Bryce, Preston and Sarah Givens;
Mackenzie Marquis; and one step-granddaughter, Brittany Kirchner.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Jock graduated from Octavia High School in 1952 and the University of Illinois in 1956. He was a 2nd Lieutenant
in the United States Air Force. He returned to the family farm and farmed for more than 40 years.

He was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees and boards.
He was a member and past president of the Octavia School Board. He served on the Soil and Water Conservation District for 30 years, McLean County
Service Company and Martin Township Trustee.
