John Rathbun, 65, of Peoria, passed away peacefully at 7:15 pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home.

Cremation has been accorded.  There will be no services.

John was born March 28, 1956 in Fairbury, IL, the son of Nowlan and Mattie (Grove) Rathbun.  He married Sandy Hanstedt on May 6, 2006 in Peoria, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving are his brother Terry (Phyllis) of Tucson, AZ, his 3 step children, 6 step grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Herb Rathbun.

John enjoyed fishing and golfing, and was an excellent pool player.  He was active in the Fairbury Jaycees and loved giving back to the community.  He was a great friend to many and many are better for his friendship.  He was well known for his great sense of humor, kindness and generosity to those that needed a helping hand.
