Obituary
John B. Reis IV, 26, Fairbury died at 5:24 am Friday, May 21, 2010 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, May 24, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with a rosary to be recited at 2:30pm. The family suggests memorials be given to the John B. Reis IV memorial fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
John was born July 15, 1983 in Fairbury, IL the son of John B. III and Jan Ellen Ricketts Reis. They survive in Fairbury.
Also surviving are his siblings, Anthony J. Reis, Normal, IL, Andrew T., Elizabeth G., Anna Y., Alexander W. and Katherine L. Reis, all of Fairbury, maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth Ricketts, Fairbury and paternal grandparents, John and Rosie Reis, Fairbury.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lyle Ricketts.
John was a 2001 graduate of Prairie Central High and attended Heartland Community College, Normal.
He was employed at Benchwarmer's Pub, Fairbury as head cook and was in charge of the catering department. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and an avid Nascar and Stock Car fan who enjoyed bowling in several leagues.
