Obituary
Chenoa – John E. Shumaker, 67, of Chenoa passed away at 5:45pm on April 8, 2011 in Pontiac.
His funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Friends and Family Fellowship, Bloomington. Larry Collins will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10-1:00pm also on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
John was born July 7, 1943 in Jacksonville the son of John E. and Ava E. Swaby Shumaker.
He married Donna Morris on May 2, 1980 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his son Leonard (Teresa) Shumaker of Groveland; step-children, John DeWitt, Jeff (Christina) DeWitt, and Julie DeWitt all of Chenoa; nine grandchildren; one sister Janet (Jim) Copland of Clinton; and his dogs, Tiko and CoCo.
John was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, Chelsea DeWitt.
John was a member of Friends and Family Fellowship Church in Bloomington and Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
John retired as a Nuclear Medicine Technician at St. James –John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
