John L. Tredennick 88 of Fairbury passed away at 9:25 am, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Evenglow Health Center, Pontiac.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Monday, June 20, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Fairbury with Wayne Kurth officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 pm, Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury; and 9 to 9:45 am on Monday prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to SELCAS, First United Methodist Church of Fairbury or OSF St. James-John Albrecht ICU, Pontiac.

John was born December 26, 1927 in Strawn; the son of Elmer and Lillian (Heald) Tredennick. He married Joan Bressner on September 18, 1949 in Pontiac. His wife, Joan survives in Fairbury. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandson, Ethan Trainor.

Other survivors include two sons, Dennis (Sharon) Tredennick, David (Kitty) Tredennick both of Fairbury; one daughter Lori (Ron) Kampwerth of Aviston, IL; one sister, Lois (Dean) Schafroth of Urbana; 9 grandchildren, Matt, Melanie, Kerry, Dylan, Kim, Kara, Andrew, Nathan, Lauren and 13 great grandchildren.

John was a 1946 graduate of Pontiac High School then served in the National Guard. He was owner-operator of K&S Sales in Fairbury for many years. John served on the Lion's Club of Fairbury and was an Indian Grove Township official as well as a faithful "Coffee Club" member at McDonald's in Fairbury. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
